I picked it up before I go to the airport to fly to LA for a day. This cool 280zx was at Keith’s.
Keith recommends a new fan and radiator before summer. The fan clutch is not engaging, and there is enough gunk and age at work in the radiator that it just makes sense to replace it with something modern that works better. Apparently, there has been improvement in the last 35 years.

Not to be “that guy”, but that’s not a 280zx, it’s a 280z. It looks like a 75 or 76. The ZX was fatter and less graceful.
dammit, I think I’m “that guy”...

Changing out the radiator is a cakewalk on that thing. If you don’t care how many of your knuckles will be torn open.

You and I both made Sunchaser/280ZX posts today.
Ps. In defense of the poor radiator...That radiator has gotten the car through 35 Summers already! “It makes sense to replace it with something modern” - couldn’t you say that about literally every mechanical component on the car? There’s always a better component out there, but if the ones you’ve got work perfectly, why bother?
I have a friend who’s always keen to replace anything even slightly worn with a new part. It makes small jobs into big ones and cheap-to-own cars into expensive ones.
